Soar Like An Eagle by Greg Luchak - Home Based Business Mentor

Soar Like An Eagle – Don’t Cluck Like A Chicken

By Greg Luchak

So why Soar Like An Eagle…You Ask? Well, better to act like an eagle than cluck like a chicken! I don’t always say it but I have often thought about it. One of my favorite speakers (Ron Ball) that I have seen live and listened to over the years often has related stories of personal development to that of the eagle. So I’m basically re-iterating or re-enforcing if you will, what I have learned from his teaching. In my opinion the correlation between successful people and the actions of an eagle are tremendously similar.

The Eagle is the most majestic bird in the world. They have the keenest eyesight. They can spot their prey from thousands of feet in the air. They can soar at tremendous speeds with there magnificent wings. They can dive downward, snapping up, clutching there prey with there talons and able to carry more than twice there weight. They are exceedingly independent and extremely protective of their young.

My wife and I, on our honeymoon, decided to take an Alaskan cruise. In one of the ports we set ashore and took a wildlife tour. Our guide drove us around the shoreline explaining the different wildlife, etc. One of the facts we were told was that the Bald Eagle every summer from May to August migrates up to Alaska. We were their at the tale end of the migration so there were not many but we were able to watch one as he sat atop a 50 foot spruce tree. What he was doing was watching the samon coming to shore to spawn. Just as we were taking our pictures he took off flying straight up and then swooping down onto the surface of the water, clutching what looked to be a 50 pound Samon. It was magnificent to watch.

So where is the relevance? Take for example the behavior an eagle displays, compared to that of an entrepreneur. An entrepreneur must have a vision. Able to recognize opportunity! He must be quick and decisive with his decisions. He never quits. He never complains. Failure is not an option. Success is his only pursuit! He takes action. He is a leader.

Now take the nature and actions of a chicken. Chickens can’t fly. They can only cluck and peck and chase each other around the barn yard. You heard the stories and comparisons of people running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Not a pretty sight. But, true to life of a lot of people!

So, do you see the difference? The moral of this is simple. To be a successful entrepreneur act like an eagle. Have great vision. Be the best at what you do. Take action. Be a leader. Soar like an eagle!
